In my observances, I have always noted that what is natural reaps positive results and what is unnatural usually brings about unnatural results.
Examples:
Children who are "worn" in a sling or other carrier for many hours per day (or carried in arms for that matter) tend to be more alert than babies who are not. The cry less and are more secure. They learn to be "human" faster. They are more animated.
Children who are breastfed tend to have higher IQ's than those who are not. While this may be attributed somewhat to DHA, it also has much to do with the physical contact and being held therefore exposed to more things (just like baby wearing). They are healthier. They have less illness. They are more nurturing children and adults. They show empathy toward others at a younger age. They tend to be more considerate. There is a lower incidence of SIDS.
Children who are born into the world by natural birth rather than unnatural birth have mother's who's very brains are more responsive to the cries of their babies. There is a lower mortality rate for infants and mothers. There are less "emergencies" than with hospital births.
Children who sleep with their parents have parents who are more responsive. The respiratory and heart rhythms of the mother and child, if breastfeeding, are in sync therefore reducing SIDS rates.
Children who are not vaccinated become ill less often. There is a much lower incidence of SIDS. Autism is unheard of among the unvaccinated. Communicable diseases such as those which they are being vaccinated for are virtually unheard of among unvaccinated children.
Cloth diapered children have less rashes. Not as many fertility issues as adults.
And I could go on and on. I could state the other side as well. There are many negatives to what formula does and the way the corporations disregard our children to make a dollar. The ripple effect environmentally from formula and disposable diapers as well as hospital birthing spreads far and wide. We are harming children, killing animals and destroying the earth all in the name of convenience.
Yep... natural is better all the way around.

Love following your blog. I am still not sure about the vaccinations debate only because I almost died from meningitis at 9 months old (my mom was into the cloth diaper, breast feeding, etc) and I survived but it left me almost 75% deaf. But other than that, I totally agree with all of your other points. I plan on using cloth diapers and breastfeeding and much more.
ReplyDeleteI can see that. However, is there a meningitis vaccine? I'm pretty sure that anything offered along those lines an antibiotic for bacterial meningitis. From all I've seen, there is nothing which is effective against viral meningitis in the way of vaccinations.
ReplyDeleteHowever, there are natural medicines which kill viruses. I've yet to stumble across the virus that I couldn't get rid of naturally.
My suggestion would be to check out the efficacy of vaccines as would appear in the J.A.M.A and CDC materials. I think their admissions will certainly surprise you :-)
