I've never been at someone else's birth. My cousin's all were at each other's (they're sisters and such) but I've never been at another person's birth. I've always been on the pushing end *lol* It'll be so different and yet so like my own birth experience.
I remember when I went into labor with Lorelai--notifying the Primal Mommies group that I was vanishing from the internet to give birth. I remember cooking enough food for 2 weeks because I was told not to get out of bed. I did. But it didn't no good. My cousin was a nervous wreck and ate all the food while I was in labor *lol* She's so funny.
This time.. no one has to cook for 2 weeks. I'm old enough to keep the house running (when I had lorelai--everyone else in the house was a child). Lee Anne can stay in bed for 2 weeks. That's heaven for her. She's a sleeper. Has been for years--getting out of bed is against her religious beliefs *lol* She'll enjoy that.
As the time gets closer.. I can visualize her birthing day so clearly. I guess because we have a new house and so I can "see" it. Her baby will be born in the same neighborhood as Lorelai was. We aren't going to be on the same street; but the labor walk will be the same path I walked again and again in my labor. Talk about walking in your mother's footsteps! She'll be surrounded by the women who care and love for her; her sisters; her father hopefully. She'll be walking a path lined in trees, woods, horses; stables.. very natural. Very earthy.
Lee anne is on her way. My primal baby is now a primal mommy.
